Sight-Singing (with Anne)

·      DESCRIPTION: Do you want to improve your ability to read and sing music? During this two-day course, you will learn the basics of sight-singing by applying music theory and ear-training techniques, with a focus on solfege, pitch and rhythm.

Intro to Songwriting and Home Recording (with Andrew and Sean)

·      WHERE: 610 County Rd 1, Pine Island NY

·      WHEN: July 15th-19th (Songwriting) and July 22nd-26th (Home Recording) // 12pm-3:30pm

·      AGE GROUP: 13-18

·      COST: $300 for 1 week / $500 for both weeks

·      DESCRIPTION: Week 1 will focus on the fundamentals of songwriting, with students collaborating to write an original song by the end of the week. Week 2 will focus on learning how to record the song, using Logic software with a basic home recording setup. Students will be guided to perform and record vocals and each instrument themselves, and learn basic production and mixing techniques. At the end of the course, each student will be sent an mp3 of their original song! Previous songwriting and/or recording experience is helpful, but not required. We recommend enrolling for both weeks, but students have the option to enroll in either the Songwriting week or the Home Recording week.

Songwriting Workshop (with Sean)

·      DESCRIPTION: Bring your songs! This all-ages workshop will provide a collaborative environment for students to share their original songs, and learn some tips and techniques to improve their songwriting. Topics covered during the week will include lyric writing, melody, harmony, rhythm and instrumentation.

Intro to Guitar (with John)

·      WHEN: August 19th & 20th // 12pm-2pm

·      AGE GROUP: 7-12

·      COST: $80

DESCRIPTION: Not quite sure if the guitar is right for your child? Students will learn the basics of guitar playing, including chords, strumming, and picking over this two-day introductory course.

Sound & Music in Video Games & Film (with Matt B)

DESCRIPTION: Hands-on experience in learning how to create sound effects, voiceovers, and music for movies and video games. Attendees will leave camp taking home their own entirely custom audio experience for a video game or movie clip.

Join A Band (with Sean)

·      WHEN: August 26th-30th // 10am-2pm + Live Performance at 7pm on 8/30

DESCRIPTION: During this week-long intensive summer camp, participants will learn and rehearse a handful of songs. This will be a collaborative environment where students will form pods based on similar age & experience levels. The bands will perform their set at TRU’s End of Summer Concert at 7pm on the evening of August 30th at Thomas P Morahan Waterfront Park in Greenwood Lake. Drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, vocals (and more) are all welcome!
